Join the team

Join a team built for growth, confidence, and fun on local trails.

New families usually want to know the same things first: does my rider need experience, do they have to race, when do you practice, and how do we get started? Below you will find the basics that new families usually want to know first.

Who can join

Grades 6-12

The team is built for student riders in grades 6 through 12, with room for both brand-new riders and experienced racers.

Experience

Beginners welcome

Mountain biking experience helps, but it is not required. If your athlete is comfortable on a bike, that is a great place to start.

Practices

Local trails and evening sessions

Practices center around Crossan Park, Fair Hill, and other local riding opportunities, with a rhythm that works for school-year families.

Cost

Team fees and league fees

Costs can vary by season. Reach out and we can walk you through current team fees, registration costs, and any gear you may need.

How to get started
What to expect

A welcoming first step for new families.

The Hellbenders are designed to be approachable. Racing is optional, experience is not required, and the team grows by helping new riders feel comfortable early.

This is also the best place for questions about school district eligibility, composite team status, practice structure, and how to try the team before fully committing.
