A little bit about our team
The SoChesco Hellbenders mountain bike team was founded in 2019 by Michael Morrell and Greg Shriver to compete in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (PICL). Mike assumed the role of Head Coach and Greg assumed the role of Team Director. The original team consisted of 10 athletes and 10 coaches and has since grown to 30+ athletes and 20+coaches. You can find us practicing at Crossan Park in Landenberg, PA or Fair Hill NRMA in Elkton, MD.

Upcoming Hellbender Events
As we wrap up 2023 and say goodbye to our graduating seniors, we look forward to 2024. Our calendar is starting to come into place and we will list any local events here, as well as our teams upcoming race schedule with PAMTB. Currently our practices take place at Crossan Park and Fair Hill on Monday and Thursday starting at 6 P.M. Download the TEAMSNAP app to keep up with practice and event updates.
Granite Hill Campground in Gettysburg once again welcomes PICL back to south central PA! With on-site camping and amenities, one of the most historic towns in the USA a few miles away, and the Michaux State Forest’s hundreds of miles of trails at Granite’s doorstep, it is a perfect place to spend the weekend with PICL!
PICL’s Raystown Radness and PICL Jam will feature the challenging Adventure-style event we’ve come to know and love. Riders, coaches, and teams will group together in different ways to take on the challenge and focus on the fun of coming together at the end of a great season.
